For most of the digital still cameras we support, Dragonframe can control focus via the focus tool arrows in the Cinematography workspace or the Animation workspace. The icon to show the focus tool looks like a crosshairs.
If the focus arrows don’t appear to be working, please take the following steps.
- Ensure that you are using a focusable lens. This would typically be a modern lens made for the camera body you are using. If you are using a manual focus lens via an adapter, it is probably not possible to control the focus in Dragonframe.
- Try switching the AF/MF setting on the lens, if it has one.
- Check the minimum focusing distance of the lens. If you have an object closer to the lens than the minimum focusing distance, it will never be in focus.
- Try holding down the triple arrows for a few seconds. Some lenses have very large focus ranges, and even the triple arrows may take time to move the focus significantly.
