Incidentally those are two true ‘benchmarks’ of good animation—and rest assured, dear readers, we are not just “spinnin’ yarns” about this tall yet slightly blue tale!

Creative control is a double-edged exacto blade. Mikey Please‘s collaboration with Dan Ojari (out in full length) is both brutal and beautiful in its microcosmic madness. This refined and pioneering vignette is about an artist going insane in miniature as she battles with a much vaster rocky terrain of inner criticism and drive. Brilliance peppered with masochism may be a curse, but this film is certainly a blessing. Meteoric talents Please and Ojari have recently launched an animation studio together, almost too much radioctive radiance for one building.
