Sean Pecknold, back at it again with another highly stylized animation short. This one is a nice array of photographic elements, illustrations, typography and even a few paper cutouts. The diverse materials create a harmonious juxtaposition from scene to scene, and content gives us a nice roadmap to the wrap our brains around the concepts within.

In a world of technology enabling people to be everywhere at once without leaving their couch, this piece is an affirmation that there is so much more to explore. The term Geo Angst was coined by Sean’s sister Aja Pecknold, describing the concept of always wanting to be somewhere else. If you have current symptoms of Geo Angst, the solution is as easy as getting off the computer and exploring. And with that being said, I’m putting my laptop to sleep and going for a bike ride!
