Great framing and pacing in this film by Jessica Cope and Simon Cartwright, creators of the acclaimed 2012 animated film “The Astronomer’s Sun“. It is a music video for the title song of the freshly released album “The Raven that Refused to Sing (and other stories)” by Steven Wilson. The unfolding of the film matches the eerily emotive tone of the song perfectly while very much telling its own story. The two work synergistically to amplify each other’s power. Simple approaches can be very effective when creative visions line up just right. Steven and his band hit the road touring in support of the new record, March 1st, in Europe.
