Olympus E-420 setup instructions for stop motion animation or time-lapse photography with Dragonframe

Live View

The Olympus E-420 provides a live view via analog video output. The resolution depends on the output type (NTSC/PAL) and the aspect ratio (NORMAL/WIDE). You will need an analog to digital converter to use this video source with your computer.

Camera Settings

Dragonframe controls the Olympus E-420 ISO, shutter speed, aperture (with digital lens), image quality and size.

Setup Instructions

1. Olympus support must first be enabled in the program:
   • Open the Preferences in Dragonframe.
   • Go to the Capture tab.
   • Check the "Enable the Olyumpus DSLR camera module." checkbox.
2. Power your camera by AC power if possible.
   • If you do use a battery, make sure it is fully charged.
   • If you use AC power, remove the battery.
3. Close any other applications that might connect to your camera.
4. Set the Mode Dial to Manual (M).
