Nikon D3 setup instructions for stop motion animation or time-lapse photography with Dragonframe

Live View

The Nikon D3 provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 640 x 426.

Setup Instructions

1. Power your camera by AC power if possible.
   • If you do use a battery, make sure it is fully charged.
   • If you use AC power, remove the battery.
2. Close any other applications that might connect to your camera.
   • For Mac OS X, Open iPhoto, go to its Preferences and select Connection camera opens: No application
3. Set the Mode Dial to Manual (M).
4. Set Auto Image Rotation to Off.
5. Set Lens to Manual Focus and disable Image Stabilization.
6. Set USB Mode to MTP/PTP (not Mass Storage).
